APS were appointed by the Gouvernement du Quebec to manage the CAT A refurbishment and CAT B fitting out of their 12,000 sq ft office building in London’s Pall Mall.

The substantial refurbishment of this historic building within the St James Conservation Area demanded a highly considered approach. The project included significant structural alteration, extension and remodelling of the accommodation, and complete renewal of the services to provide modern, efficient office space.

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the complex demolition and repositioning of each floor and retaining the original façade and internal period features, such as the main oak staircase.

APS were awarded the role of Quantity Surveyor following the major structural redesign. This had resulted in a vast and unrecorded financial account which APS were able to resolve through the implementation of a vigorous change management process, which produced an overall saving on the contractors predicted final account.

"APS were professional, thorough and proactive throughout the process, and always available when we needed them."

Yves Poulin, Gouvernement du Québec ( Relations Internationales, Francophonie et Commerce Exterieur )
APS were professional, thorough and proactive throughout the process, and always available when we needed them. They ensured all aspects of this complex project were coordinated with the professional team, the contractor and our team at Gouvernement du Quebec. We would definitely recommend APS Chartered Surveyors and Project Managers and we continue to work with them on further projects.
